Academic Program Approval

Community colleges and other providers of academic training and continuing education that award degrees or certificates in the area of Medical Office Management may apply to PAHCOM for approval of their programs.

To apply for program approval, educators must submit:

• a letter of request
• overview of program including length and cost; prerequisites; and marketing materials
• description of coursework and program syllabus
• instructor profiles
• an application form along with application fee

CEU Approval for Individual Courses and Workshops Continuing education programs can be sponsored by organizations and institutions such as state and county medical societies, commercial firms, medical centers, private consultants, and other associations.   One CEU may be awarded for each hour (in 1/2 hour increments) of actual classroom instruction. (For example, if a 8-hour seminar includes two 30-minute breaks and a lunch break of 1 1/2 hours, an attendee who spent 5 1/2 hours in the classroom earned 5 ½ CEUs.)
