In 1993, one of my physicians handed me a Medical Economics article on professional organizations for practice office managers, which highlighted PAHCOM and the CMM designation. My physicians and I agreed that PAHCOM's continuing education and networking opportunities would benefit both me and our practice. After joining, I attended my first conference alone and, like many others, I was nervous. I didn't know anyone and wasn't sure what to expect. Luckily, I came across a group of PAHCOM chapter members when I arrived at the airport. We shared a cab ride to the hotel and they immediately made me feel welcome. I met many new friends during that conference, and was amazed at members' willingness to share their knowledge.

With PAHCOM, I now have a network of true professionals to whom I can turn for advice on all types of problems. I rely on their expertise--and they on mine. Meanwhile, my physicians recognize the value of networking and feel proud that I'm able to assist fellow PAHCOM members. Obviously, PAHCOM has not only impressed me and impacted my professional life, but has made believers of my physicians as well.
