Medical Office Management Newsletter
PAHCOM's bimonthly newsletter provides critical information that medical office managers can use every day. Concise articles written by medical management experts cover the full range of critical issues including financial management; practice structure; human resources; communication and leadership; and regulatory updates. Member accomplishments, helpful hints, association news, and announcements from vendors are spotlighted in every issue.
Chapters
PAHCOM currently has 40 independent chapters throughout the country that conduct monthly educational programs, provide networking opportunities and share professional resources, exchange news on local medical events, and administer the PAHCOM Certified Medical Manager (CMM) examination.
Certified Medical Manager (CMM) Program
CMM is a highly prized credential that demonstrates a commitment to the pursuit of excellence and to continuing education. The CMM examination consists of 200 multiple choice questions that document knowledge in the 18 key content areas of medical office management. Certified medical managers are required to be PAHCOM members.
Annual Conference
Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2008, the PAHCOM annual conference is a premier educational event offering classroom sessions, an informative exhibit program, updates on technological advances in health care, networking with managers in a range of medical specialties, and opportunities to relax and renew personal and professional resources.
Discounts
By joining PAHCOM, office managers gain access to national discounts on clinical supplies, office equipment and furniture, insurance, credit card processing, billing and collections services and systems, educational programs, subscriptions and many more products and services. A searchable directory in the Members Only section of the Web site makes it easy for members to find the vendor they need--and to take advantage of the discounts that make PAHCOM membership such a sensible investment.
Professional Resources
The PAHCOM Web site provides the latest news and a variety of resources for practice managers including valuable forms and links. The Members Only section offers access to a directory of individual and corporate members and a library of sample personnel forms and policies, job descriptions, patient materials, and coding/billing information.
Listserv
Join the PAHCOM email-based community and gain access to the expertise of over 750 members. The listserv is an optional, confidential benefit for members only.
Career Center
The Career Center matches employers and job seekers. Through this service, members can post their resumes and also search the job listings for their next career opportunity.
Scholarship Fund
Since its inception, the PAHCOM Scholarship Fund has provided over $100,000 in scholarship awards to its members. Through contributions from individual and corporate members and other programs, the fund provides assistance to members who do not have the financial means to attend the annual conference.
Awards
The PAHCOM awards program offers members professional recognition for their excellence in medical office management. The Medical Manager of the Year Award and the President's Award for Professional Excellence are the premier recognitions given to PAHCOM members each year.
