Retention of certification requires CMMs to:

  • Certified Professionals MUST recertify every two years.
    • Recertification can be attained by re-testing.
    • If you maintain continuous PAHCOM membership, you may recertify by submitting 24 Continuing Education Units in lieu of retaking the exam.
      • Obtain a minimum of 12 hours of PAHCOM Approved CEUs and 12 hours of PAHCOM Recognized CEUs every two years. See Section 16 of the CMM Handbook.
      • Submit Logged CEUs along with a $75 processing fee.
      • Log Index Numbers for PAHCOM Approved CEUs.
      • Upload attendance certificates for recognized CEUs.
      • Recognized CEUs a non-approved but do apply to one or more of the nine domains (see last page of Handbook).
    • Members may stay informed about their recertification date in My Membership.
  • A sample of Certified Professionals are audited each fiscal quarter.

What CEUs can be counted toward recertification?

CEU credit is recognized for most educational sessions, seminars, courses, etc. providing training/information relevant to duties as an office manager as cited in Appendix D of the CMM Handbook.  Self study courses, except those specifically approved in advance by PAHCOM, are not recognized for CEU credit.

When can CEUs be submitted?


The PAHCOM automated CEU record system will keep your CEUs in your record. Whenever you attend educational events log in to and enter your educational event information.

Extra CEUs (over and above the required 24) have no impact on recertification; they cannot be applied forward.

Late recertifications will not be accepted; your credential will be decertified. Once decertified, you must re-test to regain your CMM credential.

What is my recertification date?

My Membership is your profile manager portal and displays your CMM Recertification Due Date. Log in on the website and select Membership & Community > My Membership to review and manage your profile.

Ready to recertify?

Click here to submit your CEUs (24 or more) and process your CMM recertification.

After entering your CEUs online, you will receive an email that provides:

  1. Confirmation of your recertification;
  2. A receipt for your fee payment.


  1. Confirmation of your recertification can be seen in My Membership.
  2. The CMM Recertification Due date will be adjusted by two years to reflect your current certification as approved.

CMM Certificates

  • Are mailed to new CMMs at the time they pass the examination and all requirements are met;
  • CMM Certificates do not expire and are not re-issued at recertification;
  • If you require a replacement certificate, you may purchase one at any time for $10.
